Description

Some days ago we talked about it, and we can say that with WhatsApp for Android we can create and send GIFs, but for the moment is only available in the beta version of the application. A feature that many instant messaging services already allow some time ago but not yet fully in WhatsApp, and for the moment has some restrictions we’ll see.

Users with the beta version of WhatsApp for Android can record a normal video, and before sending it to any contact you may become a GIF. Not exactly what users were expecting, but at the moment is what is, hopefully soon we can send them directly from our own gallery, because for the moment it is a video in MP4 format.

Share GIFs from WhatsApp for Android

If we want to share GIFs with any of our contacts, the steps in WhatsApp for Android are:

  • Record a video or select it from WhatsApp Gallery
  • Trim the video to last 6 seconds max
  • Touch the camera icon to switch to GIF
  • Press send

The process is really simple to share our video like a GIF through WhatsApp for Android, as long as we use the beta version as we have said. But we must remember that it is still a video that has been labeled internally like a GIF to will auto play in loop in the preview. So to get the feeling GIF, until there is a real way this option. We hope that the final version comes true function to send these as curious GIFs.
