New beta version of WhatsApp for Android, specifically the new version 2.17.377, which comes with two quite remarkable novelties. With this new update, the messaging application has added new icons, which we can see when it comes to managing the use of Storage, with a descriptive icon appearing next to each option.
As you can see in the screenshot, the icons now appear on the right side of each option, making it easier for us to recognize each option. In addition, it has also taken the buttons to manage messages, lower part, more to the right, which will facilitate its use to the right-handers.
WhatsApp for Android prepares to send money
The most important novelty of this new update of WhatsApp for Android is not yet available, but the files and icons needed to start testing it have been introduced. It’s about the ability to send money for WhatsApp, a new and long-awaited feature that looks like it’s finally going to be launched for beta testers, hopefully soon, and one we’ve been talking about for quite some time.
12 new icons have been added related to this new feature of sending money, as you can see in the screenshot, in addition to adding 3 related files,”nux_instruction. xml”,”pauments_debit_card_verification_background. xml” and “payments_message_bubble_background. xml”, besides modifying another related file,”payments_tos. xml”.
Internally, and commenting on the changes in general, we can say that the installation file has increased by 170 KB, with 621 modified files, in addition to adding 5 new files and 26 new icons. The 2 introduced files not related to sending money are “group_participant_divider_gray. xml” and “activity_storage_usage_detail. xml”, the other icons introduced are those related to the use of storage already commented.
